The house had undergone a complete renovation. New walls, a renewed kitchen, fresh floating floors, flawless paintwork. Everything seemed perfect. Almost everything.
Right at the entrance of the house, there were stairs telling their own story — faded carpet steps, marked by time and perhaps more than 50 years of daily use. Nobody knew their exact age, but the look said it all: they had long been asking for a makeover.
That’s when Doctorfix came into action. The challenge was clear: give the stairs a modern and practical look, matching the home’s new atmosphere. A solution that was both pleasing to the eye and functional for cleaning and maintenance.
The proposal: to bring together the tone of the newly installed floating floor with the soft color of the walls. It sounded simple… until the work began.
In the very first stage, upon removing the old carpet, it was discovered that the glue holding it had dried so much it felt like stone. Decades of life had given it unusual resistance. Several applications of stripper were needed to patiently soften the glue and, with the help of scrapers, a sanding machine, and other tools, free the hidden metal beneath.
Once the structure was cleaned, the transformation began: the sides and the risers of the stairs received a special enamel for direct application on metal, painted white to match the walls. The surface of each step was covered with the same floating floor used throughout the house, creating a perfect visual continuity.
The result? A brand-new staircase, in total harmony with the house’s floor (except for the bathroom), bringing modernity, practicality, and the cleanliness that only a good renovation can provide. ✨ More than repairing, we transformed the history of these stairs
